Hmm. What to say about Week 8? All I can really think to talk about is food, since my relationship with it is currently so tenuous. I'm not having the all out all day death, but I do have some ups and downs throughout the day. Currently on the yes list: all cold fresh fruit (oranges, strawberries, grapes, Granny Smith apples), bagels with cream cheese, pickles, and anything you might find on a kids menu. Currently on the big fat no list: mushrooms, smelly cheeses, tomato anything, flavors in general.
Surprisingly, I was able to survive and actually enjoy a special fancy 10 course tasting menu dinner last night with Alison at The Catbird Seat. I had a great time, despite my unfortunate non-alcoholic pairing. Here's the menu.

The peanut butter obsession begins...
Sweet, salty, proteiny goodness. Sam was made almost exclusively of peanut butter and she turned out ok, so why not try it again? With Her, I think I grand totaled 7 jars of PB in 9 months. Here's one down for this go around.

Morning sickness update
During my first pregnancy, starting at Week 7 until the beginning of Week 12, I had horrible terrible morning sickness. It was by far the WORST thing about pregnancy for me, and even though it only lasted for a month, I still have not forgotten how awful it was. I lost about 8 pounds during that first trimester due to the inability to eat anything other that weak miso soup and ice cold Carnation instant breakfast shakes. The nausea didn't end - I would wake up in the middle of the night with the spins and no home remedies or pharmaceuticals made a dent in the feeling.
So I've been dreading the return of morning sickness since even before we decided we would definitely try for another kiddo. I've been stocked up on ginger tea, miso, vegetable broth, peppermints, and saltine crackers, just in case it sneaks up on me. The weekend after we got the second line on the prego test, I made a dozen frozen meals for Wilson and Sam in anticipation of my inability to enter the kitchen for several weeks.
And now I'm here. I passed the day my morning sickness started in go-around #1 three days ago. Tonight, I made fish for dinner. Fish! And I'm still fine. Not 100%, mind you (random smells are grossing me out, and I've had the occasional nausea spell), but fine.
So I'm crossing my fingers for a mostly morning sickness free go-around #2. It could happen right?

Week 6
I didn't do anything in Week 6. Except have major meltdowns and be mean to my husband. And Sam and I visited home to tell my parents the news. I think it's safe to say they were pleased. Also, Wilson told all his NoCodys friends which is probably fine. I was feeling bad that I wouldn't let him tell anyone.
Here's a pic of Sam and Grandpa.
